How I Style My Hair Using Straighteners

I never really got the hang of using straighteners to style my hair and as I have naturally straight hair, I didn't really need to have any. Now that I have more layered hair, I don't always just want to use a curling wand. Sometimes I just want a bit of styling rather than having proper curls. I used to own Lee Clarke straighteners and they were left untouched for years until a few months ago I wanted to experiment with styling my hair. However, I feel that they were better suited for actually just straightening the hair rather than styling as it doesn't have a lot of grip and is hard to twist with the hair. So I decided to invest in some new ones. I have previously borrowed my friends GHD's and I found them to be amazing but they're quite pricey.

So I searched further online and I found the Remington Proluxe Straightener. Of course I read the reviews first and a majority of them seemed to be really positive. I bought them from Boots and I have not regretted it. It has all different temperatures which is handy and the lovely bag it comes in (which is light pink, whats not to love?) can also be used as a heat matt which is very helpful.

I turn the temperature up to around 190 or 200 and I usually take small pieces of hair. You probably could use thicker parts but I like to have lots of style in my hair. I shut the straighteners on the piece of hair about half way up or near the top towards the root and twist the straightener slightly to give a slight curl. You could twist it even further to make more curls but I like it a little more subtle. Hairspray is a must to keep the curls in place, so I spray lot of L'Oreal Elnett to the ends of my hair. Not only does it smell nice, it also is really good for keeping hair in place.

Here is how it looks:
